Play Speak
At night, a bright moon hangs in the sky.
Dingle, who had stayed in the Royal Castle all day, walked out of the room where the Emperor of Yan was. He had been talking with the Emperor of Yan who had returned from St. Marin Square throughout the afternoon.
And now, after closing the door, he rubbed his brows and breathed a long sigh of relief.
After walking through the corridor, down the stairs, and out of the palace, several officers who had been waiting there immediately came to greet him. One of them asked in a low voice:
"How is it? Dingle, are you sure it's done?" They all cast eager glances.
Dingle nodded: "Well, the time is set."
"They will set out from Salvia at eight o'clock tomorrow morning."
When this answer was given, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and an expression of relief as if the pressure had been released appeared on their faces.
At this time, another person asked cautiously:
"What about the lost areas?"
Dinger glanced at him and replied, "As planned before, their troops are already evacuating in an orderly manner."
After saying this, Dingle paused for a moment and added: "Don't worry, they are people who keep their promises."
The officers looked at each other and nodded, and Dingle went on:
"I will set out with them tomorrow, accompany them all the way to the port, and see them out to sea."
The words fell.
"That's great, it's just right..."
Dingle interrupted, "That's it. I need to go find Councillor Wolfgang and talk to him."
After saying this, Dingle was about to leave when an officer grabbed his arm and said, “Dingle, something happened during the execution at St. Marlene’s Square today.”
Dinger frowned as he heard this. He felt a little nervous. The last bloodshed incident left a deep impression on him. He immediately asked:
"What happened? How come I don't know? They didn't say anything when they came back."
They, of course, refer to the Emperor of Yan State and his entourage who returned first.
The officer immediately explained: "Don't be too nervous, nothing serious happened, just... a little disturbance."
“This happened after the execution.”
After that, he told Dingle everything that happened after the execution.
"Anyway, that's what happened. Marshal Wolfgang... no, the councillor was so grief-stricken that he fainted in St. Marin Square. He didn't wake up after we sent him back, but we've already called a doctor. There's nothing wrong with his body, but... I think there's something wrong with his emotions."
"If you want to go find him, he probably won't wake up yet..."
Before he finished speaking, Dingle walked away and said without looking back: "I know."
-
After a while.
Dingle came to the third floor of the guest building and knocked on the door at the end of the corridor. After a few seconds of silence, he said softly:
"Father."
There was no answer from inside. After waiting for a few seconds, Dingle tried to turn the doorknob. The door was not locked, so he walked in.
There was only a wall lamp on in the room. When he walked to the bed, he saw that the quilt completely covered the person on the bed.
"Father." He said softly.
Still no response, Dinger was about to reach out to uncover the quilt, but the person under the quilt moved, and then a hoarse voice came from inside:
"Is it Dingle?"
"Well, are you okay?" Dingle breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the corner of the bed.
"Me? I'm fine."
Hearing this, Dingle sighed inaudibly:
"That's good."
"Today in the Plaza San Marín, after the execution..."
Before he could finish his words, a corner of the quilt was lifted from the inside out, revealing Wolfgang's messy white hair, but his face was still buried in the quilt. He said in a hoarse voice;
"It has passed."
Dinger stared at his father's white hair in a daze. After a few seconds of silence, he said:
"We will get through this together."
As soon as the words fell, Wolfgang continued: "We can't make the same mistake again."
"I...I don't want to...I don't want to see tragedy happen again..."
Hearing the trembling in his voice, Dingle couldn't help but feel mixed emotions.
In his impression, Wolfgang was a father he was not very familiar with, because of his disgraceful background and his character that cared too much about respectability.
This resulted in him and Wolfgang not being very close.
However, after experiencing recent events, Dingle's relationship with Wolfgang gradually eased.
At this moment, seeing Wolfgang's weak appearance, Dinger leaned forward slightly, stretched out his hand to stroke his messy white hair, and said softly:
"Yes, Father."
"But you need to pull yourself together, we still have a lot to do."
"Don't worry, I'm fine. I won't be discouraged or commit suicide." Wolfgang said.
After hearing this, Dinger couldn't help but raise his eyebrows, but still said slowly:
"I am not worried. You have always been strong and I believe you can lead the nation to regain strength."
Wolfgang made no reply.
Dingle then added: "I have good news for you."
"At eight o'clock tomorrow morning, the Yan people will leave Salivia. They have made a promise to us that they will withdraw all the troops that have entered the country, leaving no soldier behind."
As soon as these words were spoken, Wolfgang stuck his head out from under the quilt. His face was still pale, but his eyes were still red.
But now, those gray eyes sparkled again, and he choked up and said, "Okay...Okay..."
"I have to go and thank them in person..."
As he spoke, Wolfgang reached out to lift the quilt and tried to get up, but Dinger stopped him:
"No need, father. I have already done what I need to do. The Emperor of Yan has also warned me that I don't need to do anything extra. He is resting now."
"I will leave Salivia with them tomorrow and stay until we send them out to sea." Dingle looked at his father's old face and said with a slightly heavy expression.
Wolfgang nodded slowly, but his movements were slow and stiff, like an old man who was about to die.
"Then I'll arrange some people to come together..." He just opened his mouth, but was interrupted by Ding Geer: "No, I have arranged everything."
"The new government has just been established. The country's internal problems have not been resolved. The rebellions in the east and west have not ended. Father, the burden is still heavy. After I come back, I want to join the government department to assist you in handling these affairs."
After saying this, Wolfgang stared at his son. After a few seconds, he pulled his hand out from under the quilt, grabbed Dingle's hand, and said with a trembling body:
"well."
"We will work together to resolve these issues, restore the trust of our people and create a ... peaceful future for them."
Dingle held his father's hand tightly and promised solemnly: "Okay."
